Now is a Great Time to Take Control of Your Health Security

As if you needed another reason to lose weight and improve your health a recent NBC News article quotes Dr. Joshua Denson, a pulmonary medicine and critical care physician at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans on the underlying health issues of his most critically ill patients that he has diagnosed with COVID-19.

“It seems to be people that are obese, have high blood pressure, and usually have Type 2 diabetes," Denson told NBC News. "I can tell you the ones that are doing the worst have those three problems.”

Now is a great time to go through your pantry and get rid of those obesity causing foods. Namely anything with added sugar and grains. You don’t need grains in your diet. You don’t need to throw it in the garbage; donate it to the local food bank to help out other people. That food you shouldn’t be eating is better than no food at all.

Take this time to adjust your habits. If you normally hit the pub after work for a couple drinks with co-workers and frenemies every few days, go for a walk instead. Replace 1 drink with one 30 minute walk. Repeat every day of the week for just one week and notice how much better you feel.
